From Germany to Beijing - TransSiberianExpress - Biking through Mongolia
Bike 4 a cause 2008 - Cycling through Mongolia
Jens traveled from Germany to Beijing without flying. Highlights of the trip have been:
• TransSiberian Railway from Moskow, Russia to Irkuzk, Russia
• crossing Mongolia by Bike (around 1200 km).
Mongolia – land of the nomads
This expedition started in Germany, in the hometown of “BugoyBiker” Jens. Jens traveled all the way to the border of Russia/Mongolia without flying. Using the famous TransSiberianExpress and a ferry will brought him via Lübeck (Germany) – St. Pertersburg (Russia) – Moscow (Russia) to Irkusk (Russia). In Irkusk (Russia) Jens got off the train and started his biking journey. Passing Lake Baikal (deepest Lake of the world) brought him to the Mongolian border (around 200 km). Jens crossed whole Mongolia by bike. Travel time was 6 weeks for a stretch of 1779 km. Reaching the Chinese border Jens continued with the TransSiberian Express to Beijing. Jens took care of all his expenses during the trip.
